The past few days I've been thinking about blogging some of these thoughts I get from time to time. As you see I have jumped onto the band waggon. So here it is my first official post. As I said in my "disclaimer", there have been a couple things to bring me to this point. I'll start with the 2 winners I saw at the gas station on Thursday on my way home from work. This takes place at about 5pm, one of the busiest times for a gas station. Also located on a busy highway.
The First Person: While I was standing there filling up my truck. I noticed several people looking for an unoccupied pump to pull up to. All was normal til the guy pulled in behind me and parked at the pump for a good 5 to 10 minutes before he got out to start pumping his gas. During this time a line started forming behind him. What was he doing during this time you might ask... Well, he was talking on his phone. Not a care in the world about the other people around him. That call must have been very important. You may also be wondering why I was there that long to see all of this. Well, I finished pumping my gas and pulled forward to park my truck. He was still on the phone at this time. I went in to make a purchase and as I left the store he had just started pumping his gas.
The Second Person: I have now taken care of my business with the gas station and want to return home for the night. But first I have to wait in line to re-enter the highway. Yet again I am behind someone on her phone. Shes got her blinker on and going the same direction I am. Lucky me! She looks both ways to make sure everything is safe, Its clear.. but wait. She didn't feel like going. It couldn't have been much clearer. Apparently multi-tasking was not something she was good at. Yet again, the call was very important. Now she has to wait for a better opening. So there she sits and the line gets longer. There is another opening and shes still sitting. I'm about to honk (which is not something I normally do) and she takes off. Not missing a beat, I also take advantage of the opening in traffic. At this point I'm happy. I'm on my way home and the 20 minute trip at the gas station is over. Now, I know sometimes your sitting somewhere waiting for an opening in traffic and you miss it. You have a brain fart or something. Its fine, we've all done it. There was just something about this one that didn't add up.
